The Specialized brain shock is the ultimate in suspension technology in a small lightweight package designed to take the thinking out of managing your lockout, letting you concentrate on your race effort, be that a 24hr epic or a battle for the local Strava segment.

The Brain shock works by utilizing an “inertia valve” that restricts oil flow in the shock when closed, creating a firm pedalling platform on smooth terrain. The inertia valve opens instantaneously when a bump force is encountered, allowing the suspension to compress and absorb the impact. This active suspension maintains momentum, increases control, reduces fatigue, and is just very very cool!
